It really is Amazing Grace – Rev. Aaron Kwon

“It really is Amazing Grace.”

Rev. Aaron Kwon

Happy Fourth of July! Though every July 4 is very special, this year’s Independence Day is far more exceptional because we are celebrating 250 years of freedom from another nation.

On July 4 of 1776 the 13 American colonies separated from Great Britain, and the United States of America was established. This is the kind of freedom we have been celebrating for the past 250 years. But as you may know, we are not completely free. I do not have enough space to talk about all sort of oppression and/or the different kinds of slavery in our present time, therefore, as we observe this Independence Day, let it be a day that we also honor and revere the freedom we have in Jesus Christ.

There is a worship song titled “It really is amazing grace” by Phil Wickham and David Crowder.

The verses are the same as the well-known hymn, and then the chorus declares the following, “Singing hallelujah, there’s no chains on me. Thank you, Jesus, You have set me free; You welcomed me in, called me by name; was dead in my sin, now I’m dancing on that grave. Hallelujah, it really is amazing grace.”

As we celebrate Fourth of July, may this serve as a reminder of the ultimate freedom we have in Jesus Christ, who gave His life to set us completely free from sin and death into a new life with God.
